Children’s Privacy Notice
Effective date: August 5, 2026 Last updated: September 4, 2026
This notice explains how AlienTech Services LLC d/b/a Nest Patrol Tech handles information about supervised children. It supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to children under 13 and to older minors.
Read this before you enroll a child device.
1. Only a parent or guardian may set up NestPatrol
Children may not create accounts. A parent or legal guardian creates the account, confirms legal authority over the child and the device, and enrolls the device.
Before child-device collection begins, the parent must complete the consent process presented during enrollment. The method may vary based on the information collected, how it is used or disclosed, and applicable law. The process includes:
- Account creation and verification of the parent email address.
- An on-screen attestation that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child and have authority over the device.
- Direct notice describing the child information involved and the opportunity to grant or refuse consent.
- A verifiable consent step appropriate to the collection and disclosure involved.
Trial access does not waive these requirements. Public enrollment must not activate child-device collection until the required parent notice and consent process is complete. This production consent gate remains required before public child-device collection.
The production service will keep a record of the consent, including the account, the child profile, the device, the date and time, and the version of the consent text shown.
2. Supervision is visible to the child
NestPatrol is designed to be seen. The supervised device shows that NestPatrol is installed.
Before you enroll a device, tell the child what NestPatrol is, what it collects, and why you are using it. You may not hide, disable, or work around the disclosure.
3. What we collect about a child
- Profile details you enter: first name or nickname, age or birth year, and any notes you add.
- Device information: make, model, operating system, identifiers, battery, storage, network state, and installed apps.
- Activity information: app usage, screen time, unlock events, permission changes, and offline periods.
- Safety signals: text and content analyzed to detect cyberbullying, grooming, self-harm language, sexting, explicit content, threats, and scams, plus the resulting alert record and supporting excerpts.
- Screenshots: a Premium and Premium Plus capability, captured only for eligible safety events where Android permits, after the required disclosures and permissions are accepted and you have given separate per-child consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Location: precise location and geofence events, only when the parent turns location on.
- Emergency SOS: location, battery, device details, time, and any message the child adds.
We collect only what is reasonably necessary to run the safety features the parent has enabled.
4. How we use it
We use children’s information only to:
- Operate the safety, screen-time, location, reporting, and SOS features the parent enabled.
- Deliver alerts and summaries to the parent account.
- Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
- Comply with law.
We never use children’s information for advertising, marketing, profiling for commercial purposes, or sale.
We never use identifiable children’s content to train general-purpose AI models.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers that host, process, deliver, and secure the Service, under contract, for our purposes only. See Section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
- Law enforcement or others where required by law or where necessary to prevent serious harm.
- The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, if we learn of apparent child sexual abuse material, as required by 18 U.S.C. section 2258A.
We do not disclose children’s information to any other third party.
6. Parent rights
As the parent or guardian on the account, you may request at any time to:
- Review the information we have collected about your child.
- Correct profile information.
- Delete a child profile, a device, or specific records.
- Withdraw consent by removing the device or closing the account. Withdrawing consent stops collection and ends supervision.
- Refuse further collection while keeping the account open, by turning features off.
To exercise these rights, use the parent portal or email support@nestpatrol.com from the account email. We verify your identity before we act.
We do not require you to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use the Service.
7. How long we keep it
We follow the retention principles in Section 8 of the Privacy Policy. The production retention schedule and automated deletion jobs remain required before paid launch. When you request deletion of a child profile or close the account, we process the associated records subject to records we must keep for legal, tax, security, or dispute purposes.
8. Older minors and adults
When a supervised child reaches the age of majority in your state, supervision must stop unless that person consents in writing or you hold a valid guardianship order.
NestPatrol may not be used to monitor any adult without that adult’s informed consent.
9. Security
We protect children’s information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and logging. Access to child content is limited to staff who need it to operate the Service.
10. Changes
We will not apply a material change that expands the collection or use of children’s information until we give notice and obtain new parental consent.
